Maurice has 3 albums to his credit and has recorded and toured as a guitarist with international acts such as Jimmy Cliff, Monty Alexander, Mutabaruka and local artists such Shakura S’Aida, Liberty Silver, Kingsley Ettienne.  He has also worked closely with Jay Douglass and the All-Stars as bassist and music director.  Currently he is leading his groups Skafire and Pimento (Soul) and also performing as a soloist.  When not performing, Maurice is teaching children and adult’s guitar and also leading a workshop in “Exploring Music through Culture”. He believes in the strong connection between music appreciation and singing, and enjoys teaching seniors at Dixon Hall Community Services.  Maurice’s teaching approach can be summed as a focus toward learning modern guitar through the fundamentals of guitar technique, folk, gospel and blues music as a foundation.
