Deanna is a passionate teacher, performer and music director, originally from New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. She is a strong multi-instrumentalist and has performed in a variety of ensembles across the GTA and central Nova Scotia, specializing in vocal jazz and musical theatre. She studied voice at Saint Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, and continued her education in musical theatre performance here in Toronto at Randolph College for the Performing Arts.
From a young age Deanna has explored music through a broad and wholistic approach, which has granted her opportunities and experience in a wide range of styles and instruments, including voice, piano, bass, ukulele, guitar, percussion and woodwinds. Lending her talents both onstage and off, Deanna is also an accomplished music director and sound designer.
Deanna is enthusiastic about fostering joy in music; finding what excites students and using those interests to inspire and motivate skill development.
